GORDON Jack Lester

Jack was born in 1924 and left the family home in Gwelup and lived most of his life down in the Borden area of the State where he worked for a Mr Stewart. He later retired to Bremer Bay in the last few years of his life he bought a motor home and traveled around Australia. Here are a few of the tributes from the West Australian:
The last of our five brothers, life fades away but memories last forever. Thanks Uncle Jack for all the beaut holidays down on the farm and the many costal fishing trips, always remembered as a loving and caring uncle.
Loving memory the joy he brought us, a man so good and strong. I remember on one occasion we went to Bremer Bay with Uncle Jack when I was about 6 years old about 1951, I think we stayed in his boss’s beach house.

Of course we fished and one night we traveled to Gairdner River which is about 20 kilometres away on an old sand track on the back of a Chev 4 ute top speed was about jogging speed, coming home which was at night I fell asleep when we got home what I didn’t realise was the Chev 4 had broken down and Uncle Jack had walked home to get some thing to fix the old girl to get us home.
I’m sure there would be heaps of stories like this kicking around.
ack Lester Gordon passed away on September 14th 2004 at Gnowangerup aged 80 and is buried at Gnowangerup Cemetery
